If you follow the UK news, it won’t have escaped your notice that the government has decided to cut the subsidy for solar power in half for all new installations in less than 6 weeks.
Solar is in trouble!
The new tariff of 21 pence, down from the current 43p, will take effect from 1 April 2012. This will be paid to anyone who installed their solar system after 12 December 2011.
Solar panel makers and installers alike, say the cut will cost thousands of jobs – not to mention reducing the financial return for consumers who register for the scheme after that date.
So, what can you do to fight this latest move from the government?

“I support the ‘Cut, Don’t Kill’ campaign to stop the Government cutting Solar PV Feed-in Tariffs by 50%, which would devastate the solar power industry and jeopardise 25,000 jobs.”
